(Houston)- Sixteen year old Peter Schoeffield, a junior at St. Thomas High School
in Houston selected the Missionary Society of St. Paul as the beneficiary of his Eagle Scout Leadership Service
Project. Earlier this year, after touring MSP’s recently completed USA Headquarters, located
in Schoeffield’s hometown; the Scout noticed the empty courtyard that new buildings surround. Upon
learning that MSP lacked sufficient funds for any landscaping, young Schoeffield picked up the challenge, and selected the
project as his service project necessary for his becoming an Eagle Scout. A member of Scout
Troop 673, Schoeffield arranged for a landscape architect Rosemary Tureau to donate a professional
plan calling for soil, gravel, mulch, plants, and drainage. He also successfully solicited the services of General Contractor
Tim Kurtin of Kurtin Construction of Houston to donate his time and bobcat to the project.
Members of Scout Troop 673 and others will be recruited by Schoeffield to complete the project. On
June 29, 2008, The Feast Day of St. Peter and St. Paul, the Scout began raising funds to cover the
estimated $2,000 to $3,000 cost. Statutes of the Blessed Virgin and St. Paul will be focus points in
the courtyard. Over 40 to 50 plants costing between $25 and $30 are necessary to complete the project which
will also require approximately 50 yards of mulch, 20 yards of topsoil and 30 yards of gravel. Any excess funds will be donated
directly to the missions. For more information on how you can donate to this project, contact yearofstpaul@sbcglobal.net.

A JOURNEY OF 52 SUNDAYS WITH ST PAUL Compiled
by Rev. Emmanuel Ayo Efodigbue, MSP AUGUST 2008 SUNDAY AUGUST 3, 2008
"Nothing therefore can come
between us and the love of Christ , even if we are troubled or worried, or being persecuted, or lacking food or clothes, or
being threatened or even attacked. As Scripture promised: For your sake we are being massacred daily, and reckoned as sheep
for the slaughter. These are the trials through which we triumph , by the power of him who loved us" - ROMAN 8:35-37
SUNDAY AUGUST 10, 2008
"For I am certain of this: neither death nor life , no life, no angel, no prince, nothing that exists, nothing
still to come, not any power, or height or depth, nor any created thing, can come between us and love of God made visible
in Christ Jesus our Lord". ROMAN 8:38-39 SUNDAY AUGUST 17, 2008
"It is not easy to die for a good man-though of course for someone really worthy, a man might be prepared to
die- but what proves that God loves us is that Christ died for us while we were still sinners".- ROMANS 5:7-9 SUNDAY AUGUST 24, 2008
"How rich are the depths of God-how
deep his wisdom and knowledge-how impossible to penetrate his motives or understand his methods! Who could ever know the mind
of the Lord? Who could ever be his counselor? Who could ever give him anything or lend him anything? All that exists comes
from him; all is by him and for him. To him be glory for ever! Amen".-ROMANS 11:33-36 SUNDAY AUGUST 31, 2008
"Think of God's mercy, my brothers,
and worship him, I beg you, in a way that is worthy of thinking beings, by offering your living bodies as a holy sacrifice,
truly pleasing to God". - ROMANS 12:1-2
